xpath and relational expressions ?

rvj

can anyone explain why Mozilla xpath does not appear to handle less and/or
greater than relations?

      xpath="//jobs[F"+dates+">'"+newkey+" '] ";

(the equals relations seems to work fine

        xpath="//jobs[F"+dates+"='"+newkey+" '] ";

do I need to use a code sequence for the < and > symbols ?

PS this works fine with IE

XPath 1.0 supports < and > (and <= and >=) only for the number type, the
operands are converted to numbers.

Not if you use XPath (e.g. xmlDocument.setProperty('SelectionLanguage',
'XPath')).
