thunderbird 1.0.7 "bad address syntax" mailing list bug workaround
Description of bug:
When you drag and drop a mailing list into an address field and try to send the mail, TB tries to send it with the mailing list name in the address field instead of filling in the addresses of the mailing list. This results in a "bad address syntax" error message from the smtp server. This may occur under certain conditions such as non-ascii characters and blanks in name, having saved and reopened message or other unknown.
What worked for me:
Write something into the description field of the mailing list properties.
