simple Venkman issue - breakpoint not accepted

admin-385
I've used debuggers for multiple languages for over 20 years.

When I try Venkman 0.9.88.2 in Firefox 5.0 it does not act as
expected. When I try the suggestions here:
http://www.webmonkey.com/2010/02/debug_javascript_with_venkman/
nothing happens.  (They are using a different version 0.9.87.  The
"disclosure triangle" is missing on the new version.)  You do not see
the script.  When I actually execute the script by clicking the HTML
form button on the webpage, the script shows up in the  Loaded Scripts
window but you can only set a Future break point in the code loop.
Also, here https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Venkman_Introduction it
says about the same thing - you just browse the site that contains a
javascript and it should appear in the Loaded Scripts window, but it
does not.

What is happening?

With apologies to linking to my own blog, please read:

http://www.gijsk.com/blog/2010/08/venkman-0-9-88-1/

(note that the latest version at time of writing is 0.9.88.2, and .1 doesn't
work with Firefox 5)

I just tested the site from the tutorial, and if I run the function once by
clicking the button, I can then set an ordinary breakpoint in the loop just
fine, and it gets hit if I click the button again.

Hope that helps,
Gijs

I tried that before posting the problem and it doesn't work either.
Here is the procedure:

1) point FF browser to http://www.wired.com/wired/webmonkey/stuff/demo.html
2) Tools > Javascript Debugger to launch Venkman
3) click countTo button on tutorial
4) look in "loaded scripts" pane in Venkman, see "demo.html" listed
twice
5) click on it, source code appears in right pane
6) dash appears on lines 1,3,5,6,8 and 9 to indicate breakpoint can be
placed there
7) try to put BP at line 30 (in loop), only F BP allowed
8) click "> continue" on Venkman and countTo button on tutorial
9) nothing happens
