searching using flag values

Dimitri Stratton Vlachos

I was wondering how to incorporate flags into searches.  I would like to be able to search for a particular flag and that flag’s particular value (?, +, -, NULL).  Boolean charts allow me to search when a particular flag is set, but I can’t seem to determine via a search the value the flag holds.

Also the documentation for Flags talks about managing a queue for requests.  How do I manage that queue?

I am running 2.18.3.  Thanks.

Search for Flag is equal to FlagName+, FlagName-, FlagName?, and you're
out of luck on searching for an unset flag - see
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=240398

Don't know your other question :)

You should be able to search for "NULL" flag values by using "is not
FlagValue+" and "is not FlagValue-" and "is not FlagValue?".

You should be able to, but you can't.

The "Flag" requests won't match a bug unless there is some sort of Flag
set.  If no flags are set, then it doesn't match any boolean search.  If
a *different* flag is set (to ? + or -), then it will show up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was just trying this today :-D

I've got 2.17.7, but as I understand it, the flag code hasn't been
updated for a while.

Re: searching using flag values

I installed the tiny patch from the posting
http://groups.google.com/group/netscape.public.mozilla.webtools/browse_thread/thread/7bdfd366fcced3c8/f32709e2805ee857?tvc=2&q=Flag+search,
and it enabled me to search for flags being null.

In the Boolean charts, I could then search for "Flag" "is NULL" and
then the flag name in the 3rd box.  Works fine.

That's great, Susan - thanks!

Does anyone know if a bug/patch was ever filed for this?
