holiday calendar files for 2008

Magnus-16
What will happen with the holiday calendar data for 2007, once they get updated
for 2008? Is the data added for the new year, or is will the data just be
replaced? "Should I save the file locally now if I want to see 2007 holidays later."

I also wonder if there is a "plan" on how to get them updated, and if there is a
policy on which days to include. (It seams to vary a lot.)

What I have done for Spanish Holidays calendar is to *add* 2008
holidays to the calendar, so it will show both 2007 and 2008. BTW, the
bug is this:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404653

Should I have added someone to the CC list of the bug?

TIA

That depends entirely on the contributors of the holiday calendar

As I have no idea about the holidays of most of the countries that we
provide holiday calendars for, I can't control the contributions that
people make. I've tried to encourage contributors to provide holiday
calendars that cover longer periods of time (until 2009 or 2010) where
that's possible.

But in the end I depend on the community to tell me which calendars
need updating/are outdated.

It should be possible to archive the older versions if the authors
would rather replace the dates rather than add to them.  That probably
solves the issue well, as I think most people aren't going to look
back to see when holidays *were* but still leaves them available for
the people that would.
