en-US in repository

Vito Smolej-3
Can I assume en-GB-XXXXXXX.zip  file more or less reflects the
reference English (en-US) status?

Reason for the question: the present method in sl localization is "all-
english" -> "all-Slovenian", so the mixed-bag situation (existing in
sl plus changes strings in en) is awkward. So I need the complete tree
in en-US.

In case the answer re en-GB is no: I can handle hg with my two thumbs
(g) so if I could pull the en-US from somewhere, if somebody gives me
a hint.

I'm not quite sure what your asking, and others may be able to handle
better (and I may be completely wrong).

However, if you're looking for an en-US.xpi of Thunderbird, then from
tomorrow night (Saturday) we should hopefully have them being generated
alongside nightlies of Thunderbird as I have just fixed the bug (just
needs landing):

You can find English strings in the main Hg repository, but they're
spread across differents components (/name-of-component/locales/en-US).

For example:
http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/tip/toolkit/locales/en-US/
http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/tip/browser/locales/en-US/

And so on for dom, security, etc.

You can also use the repository created by FrenchMozill as a reference
http://hg.frenchmozilla.fr/

No, you can't.

The hint with the Frenchmozilla hg repository is a good one, although
that will most likely only work against the bleeding edge
(mozilla-central + comm-central).

For translation purposes you'll most likely need a variety of
repositories which you'll need to clone, e.g.

http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/comm-1.9.1 (for Thunderbird 3.0)
http://hg.mozilla.org/comm-central (for Thunderbird 3.1)

That's what I will evidently have to do. Note that http://hg.mozilla.org/l10n-central
contains everything nicely packed into one zip (or gz etc) file per
language.

Everything BUT en-US...

Thanks!

Hi.

http://hg.frenchmozilla.fr host the 1.9.1 branch pulled from comm-central.
We are short on disk space (for this and for hosting the
transvision/glossary), so we can't host trunk+branches :(

Notes that Mozilla-central is on the 1.9.2 branch.

Given the mish-mash of branches and repos these days, I'm not that
confident that we can actually keep up with all the en-US story in one
repo. FWIW.

en-US is part of the main code line. There's just no point in requiring
the core developers to land code in several repos.

The mapping of en-US to l10n has been given earlier in this thread,
finding the right en-US repo isn't the easiest thing in our ecosystem
these days. As you can see in posts in other threads, that's subject to
change.
