beta or build: where to install on Win10 to protect the production TB

opto
For both beta and a self compiled build, I am not sure where to install on Win 10 in order to not kill the production TB.

a) Can be two TB's be in the same user on Win, e.g. in program files/TB and another in Program files/TBbeta? Will they influence each other if in different directories (e.e by using a shared updater or similiar)?

b) or should the second one be in another Windows user? Thus meaning, I need three Win users, one each  for production TB, official beta and a self compiled build?

thanks,

Klaus

Just install into different directories. I have heaps of versions
installed like this.

Be careful on which profiles you run them. -p is your friend.

Jörg.

For my beta and daily I use custom installation.

Beta goes into "C:\Program Files (x86)\TbBeta"

Daily goes into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Thunderbird Daily"

Release version goes into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird"

I don't do any builds.

Many thanks.
Jörg, does that mean that profilemanager is global to all installations, meaning that profilemanager of 60.x sees the profiles of 68b?
