WebVisum extension for Firefox - review from Marco Zehe

Aaron Leventhal-3
This is a really interesting new Firefox extension, with tons of upside
potential. But, it seems that it already can help visually impaired
Firefox users!

I personally think it's something for people to try -- the Firefox
extension is being made open source (but not the server code)> I
encourage people to look into it. I'd like to see trust & privacy issues
and spambot questions addressed on the website.

Something to consider would be allowing heuristics or users to tag up
web pages with live region or other WAI-ARIA hints. It might be worth
looking at how it can be used or integrated with AxsJAX.

Apologies if this appears twice, I accidentally replied via the Google
group the first time.

Aaron,

Yes. I've come to the same conclusion (finally). I wonder if Mozilla
could fund a technical study of WebVisum, AxsJAX, and perhaps related
technology like Access[or Grease]Monkey... to uncover the best steps to
move forward with a social engine for instrumenting web pages for
accessibility.

cheers,
David
