Invalid.invalid, you seem to be confused...

I'm just a long time Firefox user, not a developer, and not a Mozilla
employee.

You really should check your attitude at the ... gateway...

Another good example of why Firefox is dying.

I have Firefox spread over two counties and have been advocating
it for more years than I can remember.   Now I have to install
both Firefox and Brave side-by-side do to handle all the "invalid,
check you attitude" bugs and requests that Mozilla ignores.

You disrespect your users too much and they will definitely
go elsewhere.

Gee Wiz???? Why is that you think "Blink" engine browsers have
double Firefox's install base.  Do you suppose it has anything
do do with disrespecing their user base?????  Naw,  couldn't be.

It sucks to see Firefox die like this.

Could it be because of the heavy marketing campaign done by Google? A
company that has the bucks to advertise the browser and disrespected
Mozilla all the time they were working together before Chrome existed.

<https://www.zdnet.com/article/former-mozilla-exec-google-has-sabotaged-firefox-for-years/>

I don't ever recall seeing an ad for Firefox anywhere.

I do see "Install Firefox" button on web sites every so often.
But Firefox NEVER slams you into anything.

Google is unethical for sure.  Could be the reason,
but I doubt it.

My no/non-skill users often have Chrome "slammed" on their
machines (along with that piece of crap from McAfee).  They
don't even know what it is and never heard of it.  So
Google's unethical business practices are not really
getting them anywhere.

In the word of Ray Barone: "Sometimes it pay to be an idiot."
:-)

I typically will remove Chrome if the users does not know what
it is.  I often now will install Brave along side Firefox.
I tell the user is Firefox does not work, try Brave.

I also tell my customers that I really don't care what browser
they user as long as they stay off the ones from M$.

And the browser most of my custfomer use, in their own words
is "Google".

The word from Xfce is that

This is an issue between the gtk theme and FF, xfce has
nothing to do with it (first screenshot shows Adwaita,
second one Ubuntu's theme, whatever it's called, and
       neither are xfce).

And the same issues is also visible with GNOME Shell btw.

That makes zero sense.

You admit Google goes above and beyond when it comes to tricking users
into installing Chrome (and switching it to the default).

Which results in a lot more users using 'blink' browsers.

And then you turn around and say it probably isn't getting them anywhere?

There unethical practices of slamming Chrome onto users
computers is what I was referring to.  Not getting them
anywhere is that the users don't know what it is and
ignore it.  Just because it "magically" showed up, does
not mean it is being used.  So not getting them
anywhere.

Those actually using it, chose to use it.  That is my point.
Firefox is having issues with web sites and is obscure
to use (little blue down arrow) and Edge is terrible.
That is the reason why folks move to Chrome.  IT is
a deliberate choice.

If memory serves, anyone who was tricked into downloading it was also
tricked into installing it, running it, and setting it as the default
web browser. This was before Windows 10 of course.

> Those actually using it, chose to use it.  That is my point.

And my point is that is wrong - but again, this is from memory when t
hey were shoving it down everyones throat.

Even it my memory is wrong, it would count as a download, so would help
google stats as far as 'total downloads' go.

> Firefox is having issues with web sites

Those kinds of problems are always (in my experience supporting 60+
users with Firefox on a daily basis over the last 20 years), running
with a clean profile (without introducing any hacks or changes even if
'you know they aren't causing the problem' always solves the problem.

They click on Google (the Firefox icon), when Firefox starts,
they reset it to the default browser.  Or just ignore it
and continue clicking on their Google Icon.  None of them
even knows what it is.

The customer I have that are actually using Chrome, sought
it out.

My biggest issue is "Server not found"

Also, getting them to use tabs is like pulling teeth

When trying safe mode, disabling any AV software or with a test profile?

I was able to add items to the shopping cart without a login.

I had a similar problem with a financial site. Turned out to be my
Privacy & Security Content Blocking setting was too strict.

Linux and no AV.  I do not recommend on line ordering with Windows.

Should not have to troubleshoot FF all the time.  The only
two add-ons that would be a hassle are uBlock Orgin and Ghostery.
Both of which are easy to disable.  That being said I do have an
icon set up for FF in safe mode.

I ADORE Firefox's add-ons.  No one else can touch them.

The problem came when I went to check out.  I finally go it
through.  Something was weird.  Kept saying I had to log in
when I was already logged in.. Even knew my shipping address!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
