Sunbird and Lightning 0.3 Released

Matthew Willis-2
The Mozilla Calendar Project is please to announce the release of
Sunbird and Lightning 0.3.

Thanks to the hard work of our localizers, both Sunbird and Lightning
are available immediately in 17 different locales.

To download either of these, please visit
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/

Do read the release notes before installing and using this software, as
there are some gotchas that you need to be aware of.

Sunbird Release Notes:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/releases/sunbird0.3.html

Lightning Release Notes:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/releases/lightning0.3.html

Thank you again to all our developers, contributors, localizers,
testers, and supporters. We would not be able to do this without your
assistance!

Maybe you weren't aware of this (judging from your last announcement),
but ftp.mozilla.org isn't a server farm. That's what
releases.mozilla.org is for. Have these builds had time to propagate to
all mirrors?
http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning doesn't
exist on any of the primary mirrors.

Will it be possible to get a new build later? We have some problems with
the danish version. It seems the install files has to be saves as UTF-8,
and not just be coded with the escaped characters as in other files.
Thus all the special danish characters in the install windows i shown as
the escaped characters like \u00f8 which is not very pretty, and not
that understandable.

There is also a problem in the Lightning files which we haven't been
able to correct due to the freezing.

Kind regards
Kim Ludvigsen

After downloading this new Lightning and attempting to install the
extension I get "Thunderbird could not install the file at <file>
because: Invalid file hash (possible download corruption)"

Now they show you how detergents take out bloodstains. I think if you've
got a T-shirt with a bloodstains all over it, maybe laundry isn't your
biggest problem. Maybe you should get rid of the body before you do the
wash.

Do I still need Suntray to keep it minimized in the systray?
I use this at startup and leave it there all the time.

Forgive me if you have seen these before, but my isp news is all over
the place.
I installed Sunbird 0.3 while 0.2 was running and although it installed
ok, only my repeat appointments and birthdays were shown, all the
holidays and on-off reminders were missing.
I discovered that 0.3 had installed to a new directory (Mozilla sunbird)
while my original (0.2) was in 'Sunbird'. I uninstalled 0.3 and that
emptied the new folder. I then started from the Sunbird folder and
although it threw up a couple of error messages I got 0.2 with all the
original appointments, holiday and stuff back.
Now can someone tell me how to install 0.3 and retain all my settings?
I have not touched any profiles.

Hello,

Re-download the xpi from
[http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/releases/0.3]

Verify download by comparing the checksums listed in
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/releases/0.3/MD5SUMS
or
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/releases/0.3/SHA1SUMS

Restart Thunderbird and reinstall. This doesn't look like a problem
with the extension but a general problem on addons.mozilla.org
server: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345505

Backup profile folder (just in case)
Uninstall Sunbird 0.2
Install Sunbird 0.3
Start Sunbird 0.3

Sunbird 0.3 will not automatically migrate your old calendar (.ICS)
files from Sunbird 0.2. Instead, manually import them from your
profile folder and resubscribe to your remote calendar files.

I created packages for OS/2, and put them at
   http://weilbacher.org/temp/SB_Light_03
temporarily. Can someone please upload them as contributed builds?

Thanks,
   Peter.

Congratulations guys. Looking forward to seeing the new Roadmaps, you
guys are very good at that. Hope the extra developer time from the
OO.Org guys will help too.
