Shared Calendaring/View Co-Worker's Schedules?

Does Thunderbird allow for enterprise wide shared calendars?  Also, would we
be able to send meeting requests and see schedules?  Would meeting requests
work with outside Outlook users?

Not yet, though this kind of thing is planned as part of the Lightning
