Thanks for your reply. I actually got the the 2007-07-03 build to run!
The problem here was that it barfed on the email database from SM 1.1.
Apparently SM 2.0 uses a new format and the import doesn't go well.
The 'Import Wizard' launched okay and seemed to import everything but SM
2.0 would not launch. If I set it up in a clean directory with no prior
settings, messages, bookmarks, etc., it ran fairly well, at least for
the browser. There was no 'Themes' option in preferences and the fonts
looked more like Windows than OS/2 but it ran. The web pages also
'blinked' repeatedly while the data was loading but then displayed
properly when the loading was complete. All in all, it looks like there
is still hope for a future Seamonkey beyond 1.1.3 (which runs here but
slowly, with lots of hesitations.)
