Public sharing & Auto Updating

Hello all,

When setting up a shared (remote) public calandar on Sunbird, is there any
way to have it auto update the remote calandar regularly?

I haven't been able to find a setting for such.  Like asking the email
program to automatically check for new messages every 10 minutes, I'd like
to have calandar change updates regularly.

No.

According to Bugzilla it almost happened, but then a better idea came
along--better, that is, than actually giving users something that works
right now:

This seems to be a Mozilla tradition.  Here's a bug in the Firefox 1.5
release that went the same way:
