Just to make sure, have you used the command without the space before
$ defaults write org.mozilla.firefox OSCrashReporter -bool true
... and restarted Firefox?
Does it work when running with the crash reporter disabled via an
environment variable? E.g. something like:
Is it a crash or a hang? We kill the plugin-container after a timeout
(dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs), in which case the signature for the
linked crash report from about:crashes will start with "hang".
If it's a crash, can't you attach your debugger (e.g. Xcode) to the
plugin container and catch it there?
