Organisation of comm-central products in Bugzilla

iann_bugzilla (Bugzilla)
There has already been a certain amount of reorganisation with the
creation of MailNews Core but there are still things that need to be
changed, as a starter:
* Adding RSS component for MailNews Core
* Adding RSS Discovery / Feed Preview for SeaMonkey
* Adding OS Integration components for TB and SM
* Moving of Networking: SMTP/News/POP/IMAP from Core to MailNews Core
(that still does not seem to have happened)
* Moving of Security:S/MIME from Core to MailNews Core?

There are probably (lots of) other things that need changing or
components that need adding/removing, so please add to this list.

Once some sort of coherent list is generated here, I will post it for
discussion on m.d.planning

Followups set to m.d.planning

Relevant tracking bug is 471534.

Calendar probably needs an OS integration component as well.

This is already on an open bug:

Something I haven't filed a bug for yet: add MailNews Core: Account
Manager component - as our code for that is shared I think it makes
sense to have. I haven't looked at the quantity of bugs in either app,
but I think we should re-triage the bugs as we move them across to weed
out duplicates etc (rather than just do a block move).

If you need _new_ components, just file appropriate bugs under
mozilla.org :: Bugzilla: Keywords & Components. There's no need to wait
for some "reorg" to get them done. The reorg is really only useful for
moving components around.

Same thing I just said... If you need _new_ components, just file

You don't need to wait for a reorg to get new components.

Which will be done, but need to reach a consensus about what needs to be
moved and what needs adding first.

but having a consistent, agreed list of components to add all at once
would be better than having a hodge podge of inconsistently named
components organically sprouting up to be later renamed/reorganised.

IMHO, the Thunderbird component should be moved to MailNews Core and
renamed to something like "Feed Reader" or "RSS/Atom Feed Reader" but
just RSS is wrong for what it actually does.

> * Adding RSS Discovery / Feed Preview for SeaMonkey

I'd vote for naming it "Feed Handling" so that it includes all our
SeaMonkey-specific feeds interaction from discovery via preview to
suite-specific parts of feed reader UI.

Actually the code has already moved, and now lives in
mailnews/extensions/newsblog.

Guess some of this can now be posted to the bug or is there more need
for discussion?
