Localizing Thunderbird/SeaMonkey on Mercurial

Mark Banner-2
Hi All,

Just to let you know I have extended the the L10n on Mercurial wiki page
to include how to get the en-US strings/code for Thunderbird and
SeaMonkey, and setting up the .mozconfig.

http://developer.mozilla.org/En/L10n_on_Mercurial

Note that doing compare-locales on Thunderbird may not work correctly
just yet (the editor/ui files may show up as incorrect/not working).

Also, SeaMonkey doesn't currently have a l10n.ini for compare-locales to
be used, but that is being worked on.

If there are any problems, or its too confusing, please feel free to
post updates or comment here.

This probably will get fixed with the move of editor/ui to comm-central,
see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445146 (I know Mark
knows this bug as he is working on it, just pointing out for those
localizers interested in follwing it).

See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403993 if you are
interested in that - it's good to see that actually it's people from the
L10n community driving this forward!

The .mozconfig is just for those who want to build localised versions
and/or language packs, right?

Also, if I've already cloned mozilla-central, can I move/rename that as
comm-central/mozilla, to avoid pulling it all again?

cheers,

Mark.

Right.

Yes, that should work.

So, just to be sure:

I can pull comm-central from HG repo, and it will contain all strings
for SeaMonkey, Firefox and Thunderbird.  I.e. the mozilla-central is now
a strict subset of comm-central.  Is this correct?

You can pull the Suite strings from http://hg.frenchmozilla.fr/
downloading bz2 or hg cloning the repository
It contains suite/ and extensions/ . At the moment, it lacks in
extensions venkman and irc

If you do the client.py checkout, then, yes, a full mozilla-central will
be in the mozilla/ subdirectory of comm-central.
