Localizers credits moving away from the Firefox about dialog

Benoit Leseul
Hi all,

From a recent checkin[1], it seems that the Firefox credits are being
removed from the about dialog and that the plan[2] is to put everyone in
the about:credits page (which is a redirect to the
http://www.mozilla.org/credits/ page).

That means that the localization credits that were in credits.dtd
(credit.translation) are going away as well.

So I assume that if you want to be credited for your l10n work at all,
you should now apply to the credits page[3].

Just as my opinion:

In about, the credits go to all contributors for a few minutes, and then
it's some 5-10 seconds that the localizer credits are visible. I don't
think we're loosing a lot of credit here.

Being in about:credits proper sounds like a good thing in general.

In reply to this post by Benoit Leseul
It would nice, if Mozilla collected the names from l10n repositories
instead of applying for the credit page individually. All localizers
deserve the credit, and some of them may miss this thread.

Thanks,
Andras
