HTML5 Notifications

Rodolfo Stangherlin
Hi!

I'm starting to develop a simple HTML5 app to run inside XULrunner and trying to use the HTML5 notification API [1].

Running inside Firefox, it asks for permission and works well. But if I create an XUL app with a <browser> tag pointing to the URL, it is not working (not show the Notification and not asking for permissions).

Is any restriction on XUL app to use HTML5 desktop notifications?

Thanks!

Assuming that notifications have not been disabled, you have to
explicitly allow them in your nsIContentPermissionPrompt implementation.
(The one provided with Firefox uses the permission service to track
whether the user has previously allowed permission and prompts if not.)
