Digest function in xforms add-on for firefox 0.8.5

claud108-2
Hi, Aaron

Is it possible to implement the function digest() in 0.8.5?

Thank you,
Claudius

What prevents you from using 0.8.6, which contains the digest() function?

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426671
only one limitation exists:

Hi, Phillipp,

I am using Swiftfox 2.0.0.13pre under Debian Lenny, so I am limited to
0.8.5 for now.

Thank you for your answer.

As Firefox 2.0 is not supported by Mozilla any more, we usually do not
put resources into these versions either. You can try applying the patch
to the Gecko 1.8.0 codebase yourself, but I don't know if you'll succeed.

Good luck,

Hi,

I updated to FF 3.0.13 / 0.8.6ff3 add-on, but in Debian the combo
boxes look very weird (they up and down arrows in the right side).
These arrows doesn't appear in same FF unde wine in debian (so, I
suppose, nor in Windows).

How could I remove them?

Thank you,
Claudius

Try the patch at
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457075

If this helps, I'll try to get this reviewed and committed.

Re: Digest function in xforms add-on for firefox 0.8.5

[SOLVED]

The file was located in a jar file included in a hidden directory in /
home/userName. I opened  xforms.css and replaced its content with the
content found at http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.dev.tech.xforms/msg/3dbb3385b06f1827
(bottom of page).

Thank you very much for your help.

But it is strange that digest() is not working.

Claudius

P.S. It would be excellent that the FF 3.0.13 archive located at
ftp.mozill.org have this patch included.

great it worked.

> But it is strange that digest() is not working.

The patch is only to solve the problem with the double arrow in select1
elements. If I get this patch commited, it will work only for Firefox
3.0 and 3.5, too.

I don't see a way this is going to happen.

Sorry, I didn't understood the nature of patch.

So, it is possible to be included into 0.8.6ff3, where it belongs to?

What do you think about digest(). It is not working at all.

0.8.6 is an old release. Patches always go into upcoming releases (0.8.7
in this case).

> What do you think about digest(). It is not working at all.

With XForms 0.8.7pre (available from
http://philipp.wagner.name/mozilla-xforms), all the testcases linked
from the bug report are working. I'm not sure the patch made it to
0.8.6, but it should have, according to the build dates. What's your
problem with digest()? What is not working?

Digest() it is not digesting the string, No error messages.

Details:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.13) Gecko/2009073021
Firefox/3.0.13

Finally, it worked.

I used within a setvalue element and failed. Now I am using it within
a bind element and works.

Thank you very much for your time and patience to guide me to FF
3.0 :).

If you need details, I would be glad to offer them to you.

Are you certain you have the right xpath in the setvalue? Remember
that the @value attribute is evaluated with the @ref attribute node as
its context node.

Re: Digest function in xforms add-on for firefox 0.8.5

The setvalue element was as follows>

<xf:setvalue ref="instance('instanceParametriAcces')/
parolaUtilizatorCriptata" value="digest(instance
('instanceParametriAcces')/parolaUtilizator, 'MD5', 'hex')"/>

and the instance was:
<xf:instance xmlns="" id="instanceParametriAcces">
        <parametriAcces>
                <numeUtilizator>user</numeUtilizator>
                <parolaUtilizator>pass</parolaUtilizator>
                <parolaUtilizatorCriptata />
        </parametriAcces>
</xf:instance>
