My company is currently having a problem with building the Mozilla code. We have
certain requirements and goals. We will mainly be using the Mozilla goals in our
PRODUCTS and eventually in our CLIENT'S SYSTEMS. At some stage we may even get to
releasing our own products, but that is more of a long-term goal. But you see,
in terms of investment in time and resources and skills, and also in terms of
promotion of Mozilla TECHNOLOGY, our company will be making a SIGNIFICANT
We have spent a lot of time and resources analysing this problem internally,
especially in terms of MY TIME, yet still we are unable to get started. I for
example still DO NOT KNOW the BUILD COMMAND.
Someone like me RARELY asks for help, especially in a public forum. But this is
what I now have to do.
Actually, I think this is a DOCUMENTATION problem, for if the documentation was
GOOD ENOUGH, then I think I could have done it. I feel so strongly about it NOW,
that, if I have time, I will contribute to IMPROVING the documentation, for
these type of issues. Certainly I would be prepared to share certain portions of
our internal documentation of the problem, as and where appropriate.
My question is: WHY am I even having this problem? To me this is a TECHIE issue,
for they believe that if someone does not already know something, then they have
no need to know. And so they erect BARRIERS TO UNDERSTANDING.
I do not believe that this is what you guys WANT. How many people run to a forum
AS SOON AS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM?
So PLEASE, at this point, ANY ASSISTANCE would be HIGHLY APPRECIATED!
If you don't understand one of these documents, please indicate precisely
where you stopped understanding; also please indicate what operating
system(s) you are trying to build on, and whether you believe you have
successfully installed the prerequisites.
