Changing Severity Levels on Bug Form

Kim Payne-2

Hi,

I am configuring Bugzilla for a project and would like to change the severity levels so that there are only three but I am not sure what all this will involve.  Is there a simple way of doing this?

Hi,

All you have to do is edit the severity field in the bugs table (in the
database).  The values will change themselves.  If you want to change to
color of bugs in the list, which depends on the severity), you can do
this in a css file.

Edit them in the localconfig file and re-run checksetup.pl.

It's safe to add and remove values, but not safe to rename them.

Did you go through localconfig?  The list of severities should be
there.  Either remove the ones you don't want, or change the first
character on the line from ' ' to '#' (exclude the quotes).  Either of
those two options will remove the severity from the list, and rerunning
checketup.pl will put the changes into place.

Final note, if you created test bugs or whatnot before making this
change, do a sanity check to make sure there are no bugs that have
invalid severities.

I have updated localconfig.js and run checksetup.pl and my updates are not showing on the bug  form.  Any ideas on why this isn't working or what else to try?

By the way I am using Bugzilla 2.18.1.

Thanks,
Kim

Check to see if the database has been updated.  I noticed that it sometimes takes time for the user interface to get updated.  It once took two days befroe changes with the database appeared in the user interface.

        Not localconfig.js, just "localconfig".
