Cannot file bug with WebService in 5.1.2

Guenther Sohler
Hi Group,

I am trying to adapt our Python web interface to Bugzilla 5.1.2

params are:

{'Category': 'MyCat', 'category': 'MyCat', 'product': 'myproduct',
'severity': 'normal', 'component': 'mycomponent', 'summary': 'Ticket created
by Bugzilla interface from cli.', 'platform': 'other', 'token':
'15-XjWHBnfL9H', 'version': '2v0', 'cat': 'MyCat', 'op_sys': 'other'}

When I try:

result = self._proxy.Bug.create(params)

In python with xmlrpclib  I get

<Fault 32000: "A value must be set for the 'Category' field.">

I tried many different variants of writing Category and even downloaded the
Bugzilla 5.1.2 source code, but I could not identify what goes wrong.

How can I make Bugzilla happy to create a bug for me ?

Best regards Günther

If things worked before in 5.0 and don't in 5.1 anymore, you should file a
bug and ask the devs for a migration guide or file a regression. 5.1 is an
unstable development version.

RE: Cannot file bug with WebService in 5.1.2

Guenther Sohler
Hi Mr. Schöning,

it took some time to get it installed, but now I am connecting to Bugzilla
5.0.4

Now I see the exact same issue with Bugzilla 5.0.4:

These are the parameters, which I use the file the bug:

{'Category': 'MyCat', 'category': 'MyCat', 'product': 'myproduct',
'severity': 'normal', 'cf_mdx_designdata': 'newlib.newip1', 'component':
'MyBlock', 'summary': 'Ticket created by Bugzilla interface from cli.',
'platform': 'other', 'token': '15-FiKk2bJMoi', 'version': '2v0', 'cat':
'MyCat', 'op_sys': 'other'}

print(params)

        result = self._proxy.Bug.create(params)
        id=r['id']
        return id

the result given is:

<Fault 32000: "A value must be set for the 'Category' field.">

Can this behavior been reproduces from the code ?
What needs to be changed to create the bug successfully ?

Best regards Guenther

You shouldn't, start with migration to 5.0, which has been released properly
and might fix your problem already. If things simply changed in 5.0, your
bug will be closed as invalid most likely anyway.
