Bugzilla: entry group access and search

Holger Schmidt
Hi,

it appears that a product is not visible in the Bugzilla search form if
the user who is running the search does not have the entry right set in
the product group control form.  Why?  The user can still find the bugs
for that product by selecting "all" products or by manipulating the
resulting URL (buglist.cgi?product=invisibleProduct).

I would like to set up an announcement product that is read only for
regular users.  But with the current behavior regular users are not
able to restrict their search to that announcement product because it
is not in the product list.  I don't see any reason why that would be
useful.  How can I make that product appear in the list?

Thanks,
Holger

you may want to set your useentrygroupdefault parameter to off.

   Kind regards

That is exactly what I'm looking for.  The problem was that the
documentation doesn't mention the impact on the search while the text
in the editparams.cgi does.  So without knowing that I wouldn't have
looked into the parameters...

Thanks for your help,
Holger
