Re: Mozilla's use of github (was Re: Bug Importance)

Martin Best
See that's just a great idea that I wouldn't have considered.  Is this something that is achievable?

Or speak with GitHub about giving us an exception/higher limit once we prove that we need one.

The conversation is always possible, and never underestimate the pull
that the Mozilla name has. GitHub wants to be seen as a the premier
tool for code collaboration. Mozilla is already seen as the most
successful consumer-focused open source project. Seems like a pretty
good marriage to me!

Just to add some more information.

From what I could tell from github it is a 5000 request per hour limit.

Do we really plan on making more requests than that ?

This really depends on how it's implemented on their end and how many queries are required to build the data set we want.  I currently have too little information to give you a good perspective so I'm going to hold off until I try and get some data out and see what the options look like.  I'm hoping to experiment with this in the next few weeks.
