Automatically change status to Assigned when assigning a bug

Ian Rosenfield
Hi,

I'm running Bugzilla 3.6.3.  I am looking for a way to make it so when
a NEW bug is assigned to someone other than the default assignee, the
status is automatically changed to ASSIGNED.  This would remove a
redundant step in my workflow.

I realize this is not exactly Bugzilla's default workflow, but I
should be able to do it with an extension.  Unfortunately, I haven't
been able to find much about extensions when searching, other then the
Example.pm and that I would put the code at bug_end_of_update.

Does anyone know of a good place to look up extensions?  Or where to
find examples of changing the status field?

Thanks.

This code is in process_bug.cgi.  You can change it there, or grep through the code for "Hook".  You can create functions in an extension that use the name of the hook to change parameters.
