Adding project and component values to newchangedmail bugmail (b.m.o 175222)

m_ape_eks
Adding project and component values to newchangedmail bugmail
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=175222)

I'm having trouble implementing the patch in attachment 164158 with my
unpatched 2.18.1. I added "%product%" (no quotes) to my newchangedmail
parameter. When committing a new Comment, process_bug.cgi now errors
with:

undef error - Can't find param named product at Bugzilla/Config.pm
line 150.

I also ran checksetup.pl and a Sanity Check (zero errors in both) but
the problem persists.

Any idea why?

Thanks,

-eiren.

I can't help you with your specific problem, however, here  is how I
solved a similar problem:

In BugMail.pm, the NewProcessOnePerson subroutine, I changed:

if ($isnew) {
      $substs{"diffs"} = $head . "\n\n" . $newcomments;
    } else {
      $substs{"diffs"} = $difftext . "\n\n" . $newcomments;
    }

to:

 if ($isnew) {
      $substs{"diffs"} = $head . "\n\n" . $newcomments;
    } else {
      $substs{"diffs"} = $head . "\n\n" . $difftext . "\n\n" .
$newcomments;
    }

(careful with that wrapped line)

That puts the full bug header in all messages, both new and changed.
it is more than just the Product name in the subject, but the
developers here like the additional info.

fwiw...

Thanks, Mike. But it doesn't work for me. The header information is
not included in my bugmail after making the change, checksetup.pl,
chowning the entire bugzilla/ tree and doing a Sanity Check.

What version of Bugzilla are you running? I'm running 2.18.1

False report. It's working. Thanks, Mike.

I still hope someone replies to my original post so I can get product
and component info in email Subject.

it works for me without problems, so here's my two cents worth...
o Double-check that you applied the patch correctly
o Double-check that you didn't mis-spell %product%

   Kind regards

Thanks, Mark. It was user error. I applied the patch to my previous
Bugzilla installation. Your post gave me the confidence in the patch I
needed to revisit it.
