Access to nss-try

Peter Moore-2
Hi guys,

What is the procedure for gaining access to push to ssh://hg.mozilla.org/projects/nss-try ? I currently get:

pmoore@Petes-iMac:~/hg/nss $ hg push -f -r . ssh://hg.mozilla.org/projects/nss-try
pushing to ssh://hg.mozilla.org/projects/nss-try
searching for changes
abort: stream ended unexpectedly (got 0 bytes, expected 4)
remote: abort: could not lock working directory of /repo/hg/mozilla/projects/nss-try: Permission denied

I was hoping to get a job showing up on:

https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=nss-try

I have L3 access for gecko if that helps.

Thanks,
Pete

Hey Pete,

NSS and NSS Try share a list of people that are allowed to push to either of those. As NSS is its own project with other parties/companies involved you don't get automatic access by having L3 access to gecko.

I'll gladly push stuff to nss-try for you if you want to test any infrastructure changes!

Thanks Tim. I’ve requested access, but if that doesn’t work out, I’m happy to send you my patches. I figured it might be useful for trying out changes to windows worker types etc, so if I can get access, that would be preferred.

ISTM that L-1 access should get you try access for everything at Mozilla.

Can you say more about this? Workers don't sound like something that's in
NSS.

That is now the case thanks to ttaubert and gps making this change yesterday. See: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1286555#c1

See this try push that ttaubert kindly pushed for me yesterday: https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=nss-try&revision=0c0e87640e3975d321b9128e59e7bf15b5aff752

The worker type essentially defines the environment that the Windows builds and tests will run on in the CI,

Hi Tim,

It is better to continue to restrict commit access to NSS, but it
seems that NSS Try can be made available to more people. Can you make
that happen?

Thanks,
Wan-Teh

Hey Wan-Teh,

bug 1286555 was resolved yesterday and now everyone with Level 1 access is automatically granted access to NSS Try as well. That's in line with the description of Level 1 which lists access to "try trees".
