Access Firefox video presentation

This is a really great video by Ken Saunders, in case you missed it in on
Mozilla 24:

Nice work, Ken!

Re: Access Firefox video presentation

Hey Aaron,

Very cool.  I learned a bunch from the video.

I'm curious about one thing - the various larger print themes seem to be
limited to the left side of the Navigation toolbar.  I didn't see any
way to get larger print icons for things like the right-hand-side of the
Navigation toolbar (the "Google toolbar" Google icon and magnifying
lens, the down arrow of the URL text-entry field, etc.), nor anything in
the Bookmarks toolbar.  Are those themeable?  It would be really nice if
Firefox/Mozilla would notice desktop theme changes to large print (and
high contrast, etc.) themes, and at least optionally automatically
adjust to match them.  Same with the content - increase the default text
size automatically in a large-print theme.

Is this already possible, and I'm just not aware of the proper setting
to make this happen?

Hi Peter,

I don't know about the details of the themes ... Ken can answer those questions.

We should be automatically using the Gnome color scheme and font size in the
Firefox UI. Is that not happening under Gnome currently?

As far as automatic use of theme information in content, we do that on Windows
only. We use the SPI_GETHIGHCONTRAST flag which is really a misnomer -- it's set
when the user toggles on an accessibility-related theme.

We opened a bug about getting a flag in Gnome when we should automatically
follow the system theme in content.
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=239914

Maybe there's something we can do which is a middle ground. Check out that bug,
especially Bill's comment 27:

But, for now we're not sure how we're supposed to know to

Re: Access Firefox video presentation

aurelien.levy@gmail.com
hi, very interesting presentation,
it's a good response to my interrogation about firefox as accessible
environment here :
http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.dev.accessibility/browse_thread/thread/8a2f9bd1dbf21597

But is there any chance that mozilla will officially support this
initiative ?

Anyway I will try to contact Ken to see if I can help.
